What did you do this past week?

Panic a lot and become completely overwhelmed with projects and assignments and midterms. I also went home to Fort Worth on Saturday to surprise my mom for her birthday, even though it compounded the remainder of my stress into an even shorter deadline timeframe.

What’s in your way?

Lots of things, mainly deadlines and code bugs. I’ve been feeling really bad this last week.

What will you do next week?

If you read it, what did you think of the Paper #6: Single Responsibility Principle?

I think I remember reading something very similar about single responsibility and separation of design concerns for OOP, maybe even the exact same paper. I can’t quite remember that much though. I thought it was very interesting and a good principle to follow even if it feels natural to go against it sometimes.

What was your experience of factorial, reduce, and operators? (this question will vary, week to week)

Reduce was cool and I had never seen it before, the other stuff was pretty standard although I will say Python’s operators are a bit more confusing and datatype specific than I’d like.

  1. What made you happy this week?

Seeing my friends and family has made me happy this week even in the midst of all the other stuff making me very unhappy.

  1. What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My pick of the week is AWS Amplify. I used it for the project and it was very helpful and handled a lot of concerns that I worried would have been manual. SSL certification went smoothly once we got our Namecheap issues worked out.
